Communication of research findings to the children, teachers,
commercial operators, naturalists, and the general public of Hawaii via talks
and lectures can lead to a change in attitude, and ultimately to a change in
behavior that will benefit Hawaii's marine environment. Better understanding
allows for better management and better protection. Public education plays an
important role as part of HAMER's mission to protect Hawaii's marine resources.
